and I'm telephonophobic. Not even my spell check believes that is a word, let alone the people I love and whose phone calls I ignore.
My biggest problem is making business phones calls to people I don't know. And I really hate having to make calls when other people are in the room -- like my boss. HATE it.

Re: My name is John,
Wed, December 19, 2007 - 8:25 PMI hear you, John ~
I don't like talking to people I don't know on the phone either, or calling places that I've never physically been to myself ~ the internet is easier for communicating that way :)
love all-ways,

Re: My name is John,
Sat, March 29, 2008 - 12:51 AMAbsolutely. Email is a far more comfortable and less obtrusive means of communication than talking on the phone -- which I find is distracting, time-consuming and generally annoying. Sometimes phones become necessary, e.g. conference calls during meetings, or emergency situations. Otherwise I don't give out my phone number, and leave my cell phone turned off - for emergency use or job hunting purposes only.
I believe that talking on hand held cell phones should have been outlawed years ago. It has been proven highly dangerous, and we have seat belt laws, so why not? The telecommunications lobby, no doubt. Arrgghh. -
